View RecordsA reputable people-finding workflow is transparent about sources and limits instead of claiming one private database is complete.
PACER provides public electronic access to federal court records. USA.gov provides navigation to state and local government offices. CDC/NCHS says identifying marriage/divorce records are maintained by state or local offices rather than a federal vital-record index.
A people-finder result becomes more useful when material facts can be checked against the official source.
| Need | Official route | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Federal court case | PACER | Federal court record source |
| State/local office | USA.gov local-government directory | Navigation to official local agencies |
| Vital event | State/local vital-record office | Event-based marriage/divorce record route |
A result without source provenance is hard to verify.
Use the named court or agency.
Name alone is weak evidence.
Do not silently promote an old address to current residence.
Can you reach the record owner?
Does the result show when the record was created or checked?
Are same-name risks acknowledged?
Does the service distinguish federal, state and local sources?
Read how the service collects, shares and sells information, and locate its free opt-out instructions. FTC warns that opting out may leave information in relatives’ or associates’ reports, does not erase public records, and may not prevent later reappearance. Consider what identity information the removal process asks you to provide.
Before paying, identify a working correction/contact route and how to report a namesake or stale entry. Keep the source evidence and request response. Check the total price, whether payment is one-time or recurring, any trial conversion, and cancellation/refund terms; a “reputable” label is not evidence that these terms fit your needs.
Read the product’s permitted-use restrictions. A general people-finder report is not a shortcut around consumer-report screening requirements. FTC says employers using a background reporting company must give a standalone written disclosure and obtain written permission, and provide the report and Summary of Rights before an adverse decision. Use a process appropriate to the actual screening purpose.
